Corporate Change – Why Planning Is Important

Jan 28th, 2009

One of the pieces of engineered organizational change is Planning. Corporate is dead in the water without it. This would be tantamount to trying to set up a new play without offering a rehearsal schedule. If this were happening in business, it would be like scheduling meetings but expecting people to receive the information telepathically. Even if the corporate change is supposed to be secret, there has to be information sharing with the people who are expected to do it.

Acknowledging the little wins during times of corporate change can be a way to renew purpose and belonging. Effective corporate change requires effective planning. It is best achieved through a master implementation schedule, individual implementation assignments, and regular meetings for project review. The use of solid planning can facilitate corporate change.
