To prevent any violence, theft, criminal activities or cheating in your organization, you should check the criminal history background of employees before they are hired. Submitting the social security number and the fingerprints of the would be employees will get you all the details of any criminal record a person may have.

There may be old people in your organization or your employees may be handling young children, and for their safety you need to be sure that all your employees have a clean background. By doing a criminal history checks of all your employees, you can be on the safe side. If you hire people without doing a criminal history background check and if your employees commit a crime, you are liable for being sued as it is necessary to have such a background test done.

If you are hiring people for posts which are security or safety sensitive positions, then it is absolutely necessary to have a criminal history background check. Even if you send the children of your employees for a summer camp and send some employees along with them, these employees should be clean and honest. Only a criminal history background check can ensure that they are absolutely untainted because this record check makes it all clear.

However if you have a fingerprint clearance or a social security clearance of the employees, then there may not be any need of a criminal history background check to be done. But if you do it you are safe. It may take a few days to get a complete check done and you may have to pay a fee but it is worth it.
